Carina Levitan

Carina Levitan is visual and sound artist. Builds sound sculptures and musical instruments. Works with sound design and music for audiovisual platforms, performances, theatre and art installations. Graduates in Sound Arts & Design at London College of Communication. Coordinated Escola Caseira de Invenções (School of Inventions) of 9 Biennial Mercosul Visual Arts, participated of Unknown Devices – The Laptop Orchestra, a free improvised ensemble directed by David Toop, created the musical identity of Apanhador Só (music band) and directed the children’s program Pandorga, broadcast by TV Brasil. Currently is composing and recording an authorial album, expected to be launch in late 2016.

Works shown at the Biennial Mercosul Visual Arts, Photographers’ Gallery, Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Barbican, Teatro São Pedro, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, among others.
